Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex

Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex is truly a place to chill in the evening where you find lots of sports rides like jetski , paddle boats, and a waterpark for children and is surrounded by Marina park from one side and by the ocean from the other 3 sides. Boats to Ross island and North bay Island are also available from here.

Ross Island

Ross was the administrative capital of Andaman Islands during British era. It houses ruins of church, bakery, swimming pool and chief commissioner’s bungalow. Today Ross Island is maintained by Indian Navy and one can find deers running around everywhere in Ross. One should visit Ross Island if he plans to stay in Port Blair.

North Bay Beach

It is the nearest place where people can enjoy snorkelling, scuba diving , sea walk ,under water scooters , glass bottom boat rides, also known as coral island because of its vast varieties of underwater sea corals. Regular boats are available from Junglighat jetty and water sports complex.

Carbyn’s Cove beach

Beautiful curved beach with hundreds of coconut trees is the nearest beach from Port Blair city situated at only 7 kms from the city. This beach is ideal for first day refreshment. One can do water rides like jetski ,Speed boat rides and parasailing here. this beach is a good place for swimming and sun basking .

VIPER ISLAND

Very near to Junglighat jetty one can witness the gallows where Sher Ali was hanged for killing the then viceroy of India Lord Mayo. It also houses the ruins of jail build before cellular jail and was abandoned after cellular jail was made. Regular boats sail between Port Blair and Viper Island.

Cellular jail took 12 years to build from 1896 to 1908. Also known as the jail of Kalapani shows the suffering of our freedom fighters. Museum in jail displays the unknown history of islands. The popular light and sound show is organised daily in cellular jail.

chidya tapu

It is a beautiful picnic site having a beautiful rocky beach, crippling birds and one can witness a world class sunset view. Best place for photography. One can book scuba diving or game fishing here in chidiyatapu . situated 30 kms away from Port Blair city .

Mount Harriet

It was the hill stations for British officials before independence. It is the second highest peak of Andaman Islands. One can visit Mount Harriet both by roadways (55kms from Port Blair) and by ferry boats (15kms from Port Blair). One can have spectacular view of nearby islands like Ross Island, North Bay Island, Havelock Island, Neil Island while on the top.

Baratang Island

One of the best trips to do if somebody travels to Andaman. It is situated 100 kms from Port Blair city. It is a full daytrip consist of long drive in the tribal rainforest. Usually tourist get to see tribal people while on the way. Visit limestone caves by speed boats through the mangroves which indeed makes it a worthy trip.

havelock Island

Famous for its silver sand world class beaches and beach resorts. under water corals and marine life are worth watching through scuba diving here. One should spend at least a night there. Radhanagar beach and Elephanta beach are major attractions here. Regular Govt ferries and private cruise boats are available on daily basis from Port Blair. Must visit place.

Neil Island

Crystal clear water and white sand beautiful beaches, great place to spend alone time. Bharatpur beach, Lakshmanpur beach, and natural rock formation are major attractions here. One may book beach resorts here for an awesome stay. Govt ferries and private cruise boats are available on regular basis. one can also experience scuba diving here.

diglipur

Diglipur is the northern most part of Andaman Islands around 350 kms from Port Blair. One can reach Diglipur either by roadways or by seaways. Some of the major attractions of Diglipur are Ross n smith, kalipur beach and one can do trekking to “saddle peak” Which is the highest peak of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

anthropological museum

–Situated in the heart of the city this museum was set up in 1975 to display the different kind of essentials that tribal people use in dense forests of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Pictures, Clothes, Bows n Arrows, Vessels, Baskets are some essentials displayed in the museum. It also houses a library where one can find valuable references of tribal culture.

samudrika museum

Samudrika museum is maintained by Indian Navy situated 2 kms from airport. The museum showcases environment beneath sea and displays a collection of sea shells, sea corals and few spices of fishes.

Chatham saw mill

Chatham is situated in the northern tip of Port Blair. Known for Asia’s largest saw mill and one can find marks of World War 2 bombings by Japan. It also houses a forest museum which displays different varieties of woodwork.
